Zahava Garber, MSW, RCSWI
Staff Clinician
Zahava is a staff clinician working from Therapy in the City’s Florida office. A dedicated and passionate therapist, she brings warmth, expertise, and authenticity to her work with adults, young adults, adolescents, and families navigating anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, life transitions, and other mental health concerns. Zahava focuses on building strong therapeutic connections with each of her clients, ensuring they feel safe, seen, and supported in taking steps towards achieving their individual goals.
Zahava integrates a range of evidence-based modalities, including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness practices, and trauma-informed care. She balances clinical practice with a collaborative and nonjudgmental approach, creating a space that allows her clients to build insight, strengthen skillful means, and move toward meaningful, lasting change.
Zahava obtained her Master’s Degree in Social Work from the Wurzweiler School of Social Work, where she graduated as a member of the Phi Alpha National Social Work Honor Society. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Hunter College. Specializing in serving both individuals and families, Zahava began her career working with substance use and mental health counseling. In this role she supported clients going through a broad range of emotional and behavioral challenges, and developed a strong understanding of addiction, trauma, and relational dynamics. Prior to her work in private practice, Zahava served as a high school social worker, providing counseling to teens struggling with a wide array of challenges, including anxiety, depression, interpersonal challenges, low self-esteem, and stress management.
Zahava is known for her grounding presence, thoughtful insight, and genuine dedication to supporting each client’s goals. She recognizes how vulnerable it can feel to take the first step toward seeking help, and meets that moment with empathy, warmth, and a sense of empowerment. Zahava believes that the greatest challenges often hold the potential for the most profound growth. With effective tools, meaningful shifts in emotions and cognitions, and a safe space for deeper self-exploration, she helps clients create lasting change and move toward a deeply fulfilling life.
