Katie Landa, MHC
Staff Clinician  

Katie Landa is a Staff Clinician at Therapy in the City's Manhattan location specializing in the treatment of adults, young adults, and adolescents with anxiety, depression, grief/loss, and trauma. Katie utilizes Cognitive Behavioral and Dialectical Behavioral modalities, and incorporates a holistic approach to therapy that focuses on mind, body, and spirit. Using empathy and authenticity, Katie fosters a nonjudgmental therapeutic environment where her clients feel supported and encouraged to be vulnerable, open, and empowered in the face of challenges. Katie has additional specializations in treating loss, grief, medical trauma, and women with postpartum anxiety and depression.
 

Katie received her Masters Degree in Counseling with a Bilingual Extension (Spanish) from Queens College, and her Bachelors Degree in Psychology from Cortland State University. She has also completed an Advanced Certificate in Mental Health Counseling from the University at Buffalo. Prior to joining private practice, she worked as a School Counselor supporting teens and families for six years. 

 

Katie loves to travel and moved to Madrid, Spain in 2014 to teach English. She enjoys learning about new cultures and meeting people from around the world, and has previously worked closely with immigrant populations with varying degrees of trauma. Katie values both process and goal oriented approaches to helping clients work towards their goals and achieve success and fulfillment in their lives.
