Aliza Shapiro, LCSW
Founder 

Aliza Shapiro, LCSW, is a licensed therapist in New York City, and founder of Therapy In The City. In her clinical work, Aliza helps adults, young adults, and adolescents overcome an array of mental health challenges including anxiety, depression, OCD, and related disorders.

 

Prior to starting her practice, Aliza completed her degree at the Silberman School of Social Work where she studied Health & Mental Health with a focus on neurobiology and the treatment of depression and related mental health disorders. Aliza was subsequently trained in Cognitive and Dialectical Behavior Therapies under the guidance of Harvard professor, Dr. David Rosmarin, and psychiatrist, Dr. Charles Swenson.

 

In addition to her clinical work, Aliza studied Leadership and Management at The Wharton School of Business. Prior to opening her practice, she served as a VP of People & Culture alongside her continued work as a senior clinical therapist. Aliza currently serves as a consultant and board member of Popsugar Wellness, Miami Concierge Pediatrics, and Teen Health 101.

 

Aliza, a passionate advocate for mental health awareness, leads seminars on mindfulness, emotion regulation and self-esteem, and has been featured in articles in Glamour, New Beauty, Popsugar, and Giddy.
