Alexandra (Lexi) Hickey, MHC
Staff Clinician
Alexandra (Lexi), is a compassionate and thoughtful therapist, who works with kids, adolescents, young adults, and families. Her clinical care is grounded in evidence-based practices, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). Throughout her experience thus far, Lexi has worked with an array of mental health challenges, such as complex trauma, mood and anxiety related disorders, behavioral and emotion regulation concerns, as well as neurodivergence.

Lexi prioritizes creating a safe, nonjudgmental, and collaborative therapeutic environment where clients feel comfortable sharing and processing their experiences. She emphasizes a strong therapeutic alliance, as well as a client-centered approach, where treatment is tailored to each individual’s unique needs, strengths, and goals. Lexi works alongside her clients to develop practical coping skills and strategies that empower them, and help foster overall emotional well-being.

Prior to her career in private practice, Lexi has worked in inpatient care for neurodivergent adolescents, partial hospitalization/intensive outpatient, as well as crisis stabilization settings. Additionally, she served within the criminal justice system as a Child Victim Specialist, providing support to children and adolescents who were victims of crime, as well as adults who experienced abuse during childhood. These experiences have given her a deep understanding of trauma and the many ways it can manifest across one’s lifespan. Lexi integrates trauma-informed and strength-based approaches to help clients feel safe, strengthen resilience, and support meaningful growth and healing.

Lexi obtained her undergraduate degree in Psychology and Child Abuse and Neglect from The Ohio State University. Following this, she obtained her master’s in Mental Health Counseling and Wellness from New York University. She values authenticity, collaboration, and holistic wellness, and appreciates that her clients are the experts of their own lives. Known for her warmth, empathy, and genuine care, Lexi is dedicated to helping clients cultivate hope, resilience, and a strong sense of self.
